Clayton Parks and Recreation Serves Up a Sweet Summer Tradition

Home Posted on July 24, 2025

As temperatures climbed, the community came together for cool treats, playful activities, and a chance to connect with the staff who help care for Clayton’s public spaces. Families gathered at Municipal Park on Thursday, July 24, for Popsicles in the Park, a cheerful midday event held in honor of National Park and Recreation Month.

Free popsicles offered a welcome break from the summer heat, and the Splash Pad quickly became a go-to spot for kids looking to stay refreshed. Around the park, laughter and music created an energetic atmosphere as children tried their hand at miniature golf, raced through inflatable games, showed off their hula hoop skills, and dropped chips into the Plinko board to win Clayton Parks and Recreation swag.

In addition to the fun, the event gave visitors an opportunity to interact with Parks and Recreation staff and learn more about seasonal programs and upcoming events. The afternoon served as a reminder of how parks help strengthen communities and create space for shared experiences.

Popsicles in the Park was a sweet way to celebrate all the benefits parks bring to Clayton - leaving families with full hearts, sticky fingers, and new summertime memories.
