Clayton Library Launches Summer Reading Program: All Together Now

DSC01324

The Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library is kicking off its annual Summer Reading Program on Saturday, June 10th, at the library located at 100 S Church St. The festivities will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

This year's theme, "All Together Now," encourages people of all ages to participate in a collaborative statewide initiative promoting reading, access to resources, and engaging programming for the community.

"I'm thrilled to offer a diverse array of programs for all ages during our summer reading program. It's a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and ignite their love of learning through literature,” said Joy Garretson, Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library Director.

At the event, children who register for the Summer Reading Program will receive a free book. Teens and adults who register for the program will unlock access to book challenges, receive a free bag, and a Summer Reading Program informational packet.

Several local elected officials and community leaders will be in attendance, handing out free popsicles and mingling with the crowd.

Enrollment for the Summer Reading Program will begin on June 10. Program registration, open to children, teenagers, and adults, can be completed online via ReadSquared. A Clayton Library Card is not required to participate in the free programs. However, to access physical items and online resources, Johnston County residents can obtain a Clayton Library Card at no cost.

More information on children, teen, and adult programming:
